PROGRESS: Comfort Is the Enemy--Can You Defeat It?



Riding a stationary bike is good for your body but opting for this kind of "comfort zone" experience takes all the joy out of a real trek into the countryside. Sure, it's comfortable to a degree but you'll never experience the thrill of taking on those hills like the cycling "beast" you are and you won't feel the wind blowing throw your hair on the downward glide. Nope. The same is true in business. It's not the folks on the stationary bikes (aka the comfort zone) that get the big rewards. For real progress in business, you'll have to hit the proverbial open road, take off the training wheels and commit to reaching beyond your comfort zone.

Disruptive Innovation - Believing in the Impossible


As a business owner, it's important to understand that a key driver of business growth and lasting success is effective product development. To most, that means coming up with innovations that improve upon existing products. A good example of this is the Apple iPhone. By adding the power of computing to cell phone communications, Apple created a product that changed how and what much of the world communicates. What Keeps You from Dreaming Big?


Ask any child what he or she wants to be when they grow up, and you’re liable to get some pretty wild answers - at least to the average adult, they’d seem wild. Think about it. What if an eight year old Sam Walton had told his father he wanted to be the world’s largest retailer? What if a seven year old Yuri Gagarin had told his mother he wanted to be the first human in space? What if a five year old Barack Obama had told his kindergarten teacher he wanted to be President of the United States?
